The EWC is used by industry and commercial businesses to categorise waste. There are a few reasons why we need to categorise waste, from duty of care requirements to submitting regulatory waste returns. The EWC is a catalogue of wastes and has been produced by the European Union to standardise the description of waste across Europe and to enable waste to be recorded, monitored and controlled more effectively. This short course will give you the confidence and the knowhow to use the EWC Catalogue and determine the correct codes needed to describe the wastes that you’re handling. The EWC Training course may be delivered on site at your premises or delivered electronically via an e-Learning platform. This short course combines slides and active e-learning to help you to develop a greater understanding of the European Waste Catalogue and how it can be used to support individuals and organisations to better categorise and classify waste.
